Medical Marijuana for Australia

Our Mission

To educate and inform the Australian community interested in Medical Cannabis and Cannabidiol (CBD) products, so they are equipped with the correct information to make the right buying decisions for themselves or whom they care for.

We are passionate advocates for the rights and safety of Australian consumers.

Our educational articles are based on the latest medical research studies and the experiences of thousands of CBD product users worldwide across reputable medical websites, providing anecdotal evidence.

Our Story

Our journey began in 2017 when we were able to obtain a medical cannabis product from the Australian Hemp Expo. The CBD capsules were taken home and given to the elderly mother of one of our team members who suffers from acute joint pain from a life of struggling with rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. Within a week, she said she had one of the best sleeps in a long time and almost no pain in her legs and her wrist. A few days later she was able to sleep without the wrist support strap she previously always needed. This moment was the genesis of our interest into the medical cannabis industry and its health benefits for Australia.

Although the federal government introduced legislation to decriminalise the use and sale of medical marijuana in 2016, medical cannabis and CBD products are still quite difficult to obtain. Patients are required to undergo the Special Access or Authorised Prescriber Schemes administered by the Therapeutic Goods Administration to qualify for a special prescription to obtain medical cannabis from their doctor. Because of this, many Australians are opting the quick and easy method and purchasing medical cannabis products online from international sellers. The problem with this is the lack of education of the right product to take, the correct dosage and what to look for in a product. Our mission is to educate the Australian community to make an informed decision when buying a medical cannabis product online.

Eventually, the medical cannabis industry will boom in Australia and medical cannabis products will be more readily available and easily accessible for patients. Until then, it is near impossible to stop people from buying CBD products (due to the desperation or nature of their suffering and illnesses) from international sellers, but we champion to assist these people in making an informed decision, should they wish to do so.

CBD Assist was formerly known as Local Push - the community site for local culture, small business and health Australia.
